BIOSpace is a long term ecological research site in the Black Mountain Nature Reserve, Canberra. Through this data portal, participants contribute biological and environmental data collected in the Black Mountain Nature Reserve, and access data already entered. Under this citizen science initiative, anyone can join BIOSpace and contribute data they collect from the Black Mountain Nature Reserve. Within the reserve, there is a 9 ha focal research area, where more intense observations are undertaken. Data collected and collated under the BIOSpace initiative will be highly valuable in identifying spatial and temporal changes in the distributions of species, and in helping to answer fundamental ecological questions.
